והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם יהוא בר חנני על בעשא למימר:
lmymr besha el khnny br yhwa em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

חלף דאפרישתך מן עפרא ומניתך מלכא על עמי ישראל ואזלתא באורח ירבעם וחיבתא ית עמי ישראל לארגזא קדמי בחוביהון:
bkhwbyhwn qdmy largza yshral emy yth wkhybtha yrbem bawrkh wazltha yshral emy el mlka wmnythk epra mn dapryshthk khlp
“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,

הא אנא מפלי בתר בעשא ובתר ביתיה ואתן ית ביתך כבית ירבעם בר נבט:
nbT br yrbem kbyth bythk yth wathn bythyh wbthr besha bthr mply ana ha
behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

דימות לבעשא בקרתא יכלון כלביא ודימות ליה בחקלא יכלון עופא דשמיא:
dshmya ewpa yklwn bkhqla lyh wdymwth klbya yklwn bqrtha lbesha dymwth
The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”

ושאר פתגמי בעשא ודעבד וגבורתיה הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla wgbwrthyh wdebd besha pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ושכיב בעשא עם אבהתוהי ואתקבר בתרצה ומלך אלה בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh alh wmlk bthrtsh wathqbr abhthwhy em besha wshkyb
Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

ואף עם יהוא בר חנני נביא פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי הוה על בעשא ועל ביתיה ועל כל בישתא דעבד קדם יי לארגזא קדמוהי בעובדי ידוהי למהוי כבית ירבעם ועל דקטל יתיה:
ythyh dqTl wel yrbem kbyth lmhwy ydwhy bewbdy qdmwhy largza yy qdm debd byshtha kl wel bythyh wel besha el hwh yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm nbya khnny br yhwa em wap
Moreover Yahweh’s word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.

בשנת עסרין ושית שנין לאסא מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך אלה בר בעשא על ישראל בתרצה תרתין שנין:
shnyn thrthyn bthrtsh yshral el besha br alh mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk lasa shnyn wshyth esryn bshnth
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.

ומרד עלוהי עבדיה זמרי חד מתרין רבני רתיכיא והוא בתרצה שתי רוי בית ארצא טעותא די בביתא בתרצה:
bthrtsh bbytha dy Tewtha artsa byth rwy shthy bthrtsh whwa rthykya rbny mthryn khd zmry ebdyh elwhy wmrd
His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;

ואתא זמרי ומחהי וקטליה בשנת עסרין ושבע לאסא מלך שבטא דבית יהודה ומלך תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy wmlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk lasa wshbe esryn bshnth wqTlyh wmkhhy zmry watha
and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

והוה בממלכיה כמתבי על כורסיה קטל ית כל בית בעשא לא אשאר ליה ידע מדע וקריבוהי וחברוהי:
wkhbrwhy wqrybwhy mde yde lyh ashar la besha byth kl yth qTl kwrsyh el kmthby bmmlkyh whwh
When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall among his relatives or his friends.

ושיצי זמרי ית כל בית בעשא כפתגמא דיי דמליל על בעשא ביד יהוא נביא:
nbya yhwa byd besha el dmlyl dyy kpthgma besha byth kl yth zmry wshytsy
Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

על כל חובי בעשא וחובי אלה בריה די חבו ודי חיבו ית ישראל לארגזא קדם יי אלהא דישראל בטעותהון:
bTewthhwn dyshral alha yy qdm largza yshral yth khybw wdy khbw dy bryh alh wkhwby besha khwby kl el
for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

ושאר פתגמי אלה וכל די עבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla ebd dy wkl alh pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

בשנת עסרין ושבע שנין לאסא מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך זמרי שבעא יומין בתרצה ועמא שרן בגבתון די לפלשתאי:
lplshthay dy bgbthwn shrn wema bthrtsh ywmyn shbea zmry mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk lasa shnyn wshbe esryn bshnth
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

ושמע עמא דשרן למימר מרד זמרי ואף קטל ית מלכא ואמליכו כל ישראל ית עמרי רב חילא על ישראל ביומא ההוא במשריתא:
bmshrytha hhwa bywma yshral el khyla rb emry yth yshral kl wamlykw mlka yth qTl wap zmry mrd lmymr dshrn ema wshme
The people who were encamped heard that Zimri had conspired, and had also killed the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

וסליק עמרי וכל ישראל עמיה מגבתון וצרו על תרצה:
thrtsh el wtsrw mgbthwn emyh yshral wkl emry wslyq
Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18
והוה כד חזא זמרי ארי אתכבישת קרתא ועל לאידרון בית מלכא ואוקיד עלוהי ית בית מלכא בנורא ומית:
wmyth bnwra mlka byth yth elwhy wawqyd mlka byth laydrwn wel qrtha athkbyshth ary zmry khza kd whwh
When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the fortified part of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

על כל חוביא די חב למעבד דביש קדם יי למיזל באורח ירבעם ובחוביה די עבד לחיבא ית ישראל:
yshral yth lkhyba ebd dy wbkhwbyh yrbem bawrkh lmyzl yy qdm dbysh lmebd khb dy khwbya kl el
for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel to sin.

ושאר פתגמי זמרי ומירדיה דמרד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומין למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmyn pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla dmrd wmyrdyh zmry pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

בכן אתפלג עמא ישראל לתרתי פלגון פלגות עמא הוה בתר תבני בר גינת לאמלכיותיה ופלגות בתר עמרי:
emry bthr wplgwth lamlkywthyh gynth br thbny bthr hwh ema plgwth plgwn lthrthy yshral ema athplg bkn
Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.
22
ותקיף עמא דבתר עמרי מן עמא דבתר תבני בר גינת ומית תבני ומלך עמרי:
emry wmlk thbny wmyth gynth br thbny dbthr ema mn emry dbthr ema wthqyp
But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath; so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

בשנת תלתין וחדא שנין למלכא אסא מלך שבטא דבית יהודה מלך עמרי על ישראל תרתא עסרי שנין בתרצה מלך שית שנין:
shnyn shyth mlk bthrtsh shnyn esry thrtha yshral el emry mlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk asa lmlka shnyn wkhda thlthyn bshnth
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.

וזבן ית כרכא דלשומרון מן שמר בתרתין ככרין דכסף ובנא ית כרכא וקרא ית שמא דקרתא דבנא על שום שמר מריה דטורא שומרון:
shwmrwn dTwra mryh shmr shwm el dbna dqrtha shma yth wqra krka yth wbna dksp kkryn bthrthyn shmr mn dlshwmrwn krka yth wzbn
He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.
25
ועבד עמרי דביש קדם יי ובאיש מכל די קדמוהי:
qdmwhy dy mkl wbaysh yy qdm dbysh emry webd
Omri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
26
ואזל בכל אורחא ירבעם בר נבט ובחובוהי די חיב ית ישראל לארגזא קדם יי אלהא דישראל בטעותהון:
bTewthhwn dyshral alha yy qdm largza yshral yth khyb dy wbkhwbwhy nbT br yrbem awrkha bkl wazl
For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
27
ושאר פתגמי עמרי די עבד וגבורתיה די עבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי ישראל:
yshral lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla ebd dy wgbwrthyh ebd dy emry pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ושכיב עמרי עם אבהתוהי ואתקבר בשומרון ומלך אחאב בריה תחותיה:
thkhwthyh bryh akhab wmlk bshwmrwn wathqbr abhthwhy em emry wshkyb
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.

ואחאב בר עמרי מלך על ישראל בשנת תלתין ותמני שנין לאסא מלכא שבטא דבית יהודה ומלך אחאב בר עמרי על ישראל בשומרון עסרין ותרתין שנין:
shnyn wthrthyn esryn bshwmrwn yshral el emry br akhab wmlk yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlka lasa shnyn wthmny thlthyn bshnth yshral el mlk emry br wakhab
In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
30
ועבד אחאב בר עמרי דביש קדם יי מכל די קדמוהי:
qdmwhy dy mkl yy qdm dbysh emry br akhab webd
Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight above all that were before him.
31
והוה שיט בעינוהי למיזל בחובי ירבעם בר נבט ונסיב אתתא ית איזבל בת אתבעל מלכא דצידון ואזל ופלח ית בעלא וסגיד ליה:
lyh wsgyd bela yth wplkh wazl dtsydwn mlka athbel bth ayzbl yth aththa wnsyb nbT br yrbem bkhwby lmyzl beynwhy shyT whwh
As if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshiped him.
32
ואקם אגורא לבעלא בית בעלא דבנא בשומרון:
bshwmrwn dbna bela byth lbela agwra waqm
He raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33
ועבד אחאב ית אשרתא ואוסיף אחאב למעבד לארגזא קדם יי אלהא דישראל מכל מלכי ישראל דהוו קדמוהי:
qdmwhy dhww yshral mlky mkl dyshral alha yy qdm largza lmebd akhab wawsyp ashrtha yth akhab webd
Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did more yet to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

ביומוהי בנא חיאל בית מומי ית יריחה קטל אבירם בוכריה כד שרי לשכליל יתה ושגוב זעיר בנוהי כד אקים דשהא כפתגמא דיי די מליל בידא דיהושע בר נון:
nwn br dyhwshe byda mlyl dy dyy kpthgma dshha aqym kd bnwhy zeyr wshgwb ythh lshklyl shry kd bwkryh abyrm qTl yrykhh yth mwmy byth khyal bna bywmwhy
In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. He laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
